I am seriously obsessed with fashion illustrations. So I am really excited about this exhibition coming up at the Central Brooklyn Public Library (which is basically at the intersection of Prospect Heights and Park Slope)
On Thursday, September 6, Brooklyn Public Library will open its doors to the fashion and art world, hosting a Fashion Illustration Exhibition that will run through December. At this largest American showcase of established and widely published fashion illustrators in over a decade, viewers will get a chance to see rare and never-before-seen illustrations by the late icon Antonio Lopez as well as works by notable illustrators such as Richard Haines and Samantha Hahn.
The visual display will be accompanied by a series of panel discussions, fashion film series, fashion illustration classes and author talks throughout the fall season. You can see the entire schedule here. I personally plan to attend Author Talk: Antonio Lopez: Fashion, Art, Sex and Disco by Roger Padilha and Mauricio Padilha on Saturday October 27th. But check out the schedule and see what you like!
