Meron & B Hawk downtown

BHawk
Before I say anything else I have to say how in love I am with the Nikon D4. This was taken outside at 7pm without a flash. Seriously sick camera!

Meron and B. Hawk were with me at Opening Ceremony and both have a great city vibe in all black looks with boots that pop. Look and learn, people.

Richie Moo rocks fur

Richie was one of the models the other day for our 5Preview shoot and so I took a photo of him on the way into the studio. It’s crazy how a fur coat can make everything a little more fabulous.

Tribal style

This might not be what you consider “tribal style” but I was struck partly by the print on her pants but more so by her DIY converse flatforms that remind me of “tribes” of kids in the East Village a dozen years ago. I saw her at Milk at the opening of Isa Brito’s photo opening of NYC nightlife in the ’80s.

Stripes & Lace

“French stripe” t-shirts have been “in” for awhile now, but the red is a nice change from the usual navy and I like the way she paired it with black lace pants. And of course I love the flatform sandals!

Akira + ASOS = what i’m wearing now

Happy Memorial Day weekend! If you’re in the States this marks the official beginning of summertime. For this post I kept it decidedly casual with an over-sized watercolor print shirt from ShopAkira, denim cut-offs and ASOS suede platform sandals and Chrishabana earrings. And my stand-by Linda Farrow x Dries van Noten sunglasses. Which I love. But I do miss my D&G shades that were “lost” at Niko’s tea party at the Gramercy last spring. I’m still looking for them since they’re no longer made so the thieving douche who stole them best watch their step…just sayin’!

Prints, patterns and polka dots

This girl has a crazed colorful confused look going on. Patterns bumping up to one another with no apparent logic. But the polka dot bra peeking out from underneath the cropped sweater that says “Teach me a lesson” suggests that whether you like this look or not, it’s exactly what she intended.

ASOS jacket, CHRISHABANA, Underground Original flatforms & Warby Parker…what I’m wearing now

Sometimes it’s all about the accessories. Here I’m wearing the Spencer polarized sunglasses with slightly mirrored lenses by Warby Parker. I ordered them at their showroom and they’re not on the website yet. (and yes there IS such a thing as slightly mirrored –you have to see them to see what I’m talking about)  I’m a big fan of Warby Parker because all their lenses are polarized which makes them much sharper than normal lenses and I personally don’t understand why it’s so damn hard to find fashionable polarized lenses. Also because they donate a pair to someone in need for every pair purchased which is pretty rad. The necklace is a from CHRISHABANA and I am loving the bright neon colors…and how well it goes with my new Underground Original suede flatforms in an acid green color. And I finally found a relatively cheap and cute leather jacket for summer evenings from ASOS. All this was worn with a white tank and denim shorts.

Arielle & Marcello in Chinatown

Somewhere between Le Baron & China Chalet we went on a custom tour of Chinatown courtesy Sophia Lamar. So while we were waiting for a light I snapped a few photos of Arielle and Marcello.

She’s wearing flatforms by Jeffrey Campbell while he’s in classic converse. I recently bought a pair of flatforms that look remarkably similar to the JC’s but by ASOS instead –and mustard suede instead of silver.

Also love her necklace which is her own creation.

Casually cool in caramel colored flatforms and matching Hermes bag

I am seriously obsessed with flatforms: those flat platform shoes that are becoming a major spring trend. Creepers are cool but have a Brit punk vibe, and sometimes I’m not into that aesthetic. Her shoes are a take on men’s oxfords with a subtle stud and match her bag perfectly. And she wisely keeps the rest of her look comfy casual for walking around the city.

Close up of the shoes and bag!

Crazy.Sexy.Cool.

Two crazy sexy cool girls at the Tribeca Grand.
And a close up of those insane flatforms. A little grainy due to low light!

And one more with a friend!
