Fusion of Skirt and Trouser $99
Okay, it’s generally against my policy to pimp a major label as we’re all about the emerging designer and local NYC scene. But I’m making a rare exception for the MMM x H&M line First, because although H&M is a major chain Maison Martin Margiela is a unique fashion house that has always followed it’s own path and believes in the collaborative nature of its team over the individual –so in those ways fit in well with this site.
The other reason I’m sharing this collection? because it. is. sick. And I know our friends will love it as much as we do. I seriously want the entire women’s collection or at the very least the 4 looks I feature here and the “I made my duvet into a winter coat” coat because really: haven’t we all had the urge to do that? –although truthfully the idea of a big white coat on a NYC subway kinda scares me. Check it out. Available November 15th!

I ran into bloggers Audrey Kitching and Stella Rose during NYFW. Audrey’s wearing H&M and Top Shop and Stella is wearing a suit by SENA NYC with vintage. Definitely a slight cartoonish vibe happening –but not in a bad way. They also have quite the floral/pink/orange thing going. Both super cute but I would ix-nay the black gloves.
PRIESTESS NYC is the zany avant-garde brand that makes hysterically cool
clothing for a great cause!
CODY ROSS is the cult-proprietor behind PRIESTESS NYC, a unisex fashion
brand that pushes the parameters of artisanal design and champions good
causes. He’s also a stylist, advisor to fashion start-ups and cultural
excavator for i-D, Bullett and China Vogue. Cody recently combined
efforts with video artists BRITTANY KUBAT and CHARLES BILLOT to make a
short but sweet fashion film for the sake of promoting Designers Against
Aids (DAA), a wonderful non-profit charity that seeks to put an end to
HIV/AIDS through education and out-reach programs, especially targeting
youth culture in developed and developing countries. This collaborative
fashion vid is possessed of an avant-garde zeal filled with sassy and
seductive clothing and coaxes every detail—visual, sartorial, sound and
ambience—to perfection. In just under 2 minutes you a get a throttling
vignette with razor sharp synths and pulsating strobe, abrupt tempo
changes and an all-out magnetic mix of unisex gear (styled by Aussie vixen
LISA NGUYEN) boasting dapper proportions, nifty silhouettes and
mesmerizingly sexy models caught up in a flirtatious vortex. The best
part, however, is that PRIESTESS NYC is seeking to make a B-I-G difference
with proceeds from the clothing going toward DAA’s educational arm.
