Polka dots and defined brows

Okay I’ve seen these kind of uber-defined strong brows on the runway and on several of my gay boys. Now I’m starting to see it on girls off the runway and I’m intrigued. What do you think of this aesthetic? Do you like it? Would you do it? I personally feel it’s fresh but my fringe hides my brows as it is so won’t be trying it anytime soon.

Model off duty style – a motorcycle jacket in red suede

Someone once told me blondes should only wear red. Not only do I disagree but I tend to think red is not our best color. Here’s the exception to the rule. And a nice alternative to the standard black motorcycle jacket!

Platinum blonde Barbie works the neon spring trend

This girl looks like a Barbie come to life. Love the super long platinum hair going on and the signature hot pink top with the houndstooth print. And he’s a better accessory than your average Ken doll –plus you know I love the motorcycle jacket in white!

Fishnets & Leather

I always love fishnet stockings. Seriously can’t go wrong with them –or leather jackets. So you put them together and it’s a win-win as far as I’m concerned.

Urban Nomad

There’s something about this look that strikes me as a modern nomad. True she’s not carrying much but I’m sure most of what she needs is in her iPhone!

spikes & leopard & plaid, oh my!

I’m not going to lie: I am kind of obsessed with motorcycle jackets. I have one myself that’s from the ’80s that I bought used ages ago. But it’s a man’s jacket and frankly I’m kind of drowning in it. So I’m in the market for a new one and have been paying attention to the ones around me. I love how insane this one is with both plaid and leopard –never mind all the studs and spikes! And can we talk about the shoes? BRILLIANT.

The view from the back…

Purple eye makeup + green drink + maraschino cherry = ♡♡♡♡♡

Rethinking the Russian fur hat

I saw this girl half a block away. Or rather, I saw her hat, and it looked really really warm –and it reminded me how people always tell kids how much of their heat they lose through the top of their heads. And that this girl took it to heart! But the way she’s wearing it with skinny jeans and cropped motorcycle jacket is completely unexpected. And the furs around her shoulder complete this urban/fashion version of “the outdoorsy type”.

Loco for Coco

You have to love someone who is unafraid to say they love themselves! No self deprecation or false modesty for Coco above wearing an I ❤ Coco button. And really, why should he feel any other way? First of all he’s a blonde: = instantly, naturally lovable IMO. Secondly, he’s from London so he has an accent that I am totally crazy for… Aside from that I am digging the deep blue motorcycle jacket.

Two at Gavin Brown’s Enterprise

I saw these two at Spencer Sweeney’s opening. They’re both in black, in typical New York fashion but both have bits that are appealing. On the left is the insane asymmetry of the knitwear and grandpa glasses. On ther right I like the modified biker jacket and studded boots.

Actually both pairs of boots are great! I’d love to have a combined pair: the platform on the left with the buckles and studs on the right…and while I’m designing the perfect pair in my head let’s make the metal silver instead of gold…

What I’m Wearing Now -in bits & pieces

Today I wasn’t feeling particularly photogenic so decided to splice up my image. Basically it’s all about the motorcycle jacket.  This jacket is ancient and I’ve had it since I found it on the floor of a warehouse loft that I used to hang out in with “punk” boys in highschool. It’s miles too big on me and every year I say I’m going to get rid of it, but it’s really too crappy to even give to charity and it’s a perfect shield from the world on days like today.

I also want to point out the “magnetic” nail polish by Nails INC. that I picked up at Sephora. Still on the fence about it: whether it’s cool or looks like tie-dye in greyscale!
