Halloween NYC style
I don’t know if you got the memo, but Halloween as we know it isn’t happening in New York City this year due to the hurricane damages. More than anywhere else Halloween in NYC is a holiday for grown ups and not just the herds of children in Park Slope. I personally was excited about 3 parties I was planning on attending: at Le Baron NYC where my friend Colleen Nika was going to DJ and Joseph Quartana as well as Cody Ross was one of the hosts. Then there was Halloween @ Westway where our fave pop star Natalia Kills was slated to perform and then finally the bacchanalia that is the party of the legendary Susanne Bartsch which was to be at the Copacabana. And that’s just what I personally was planning to hit up….sigh…
Sure a few parties have popped up for tonight instead but…really? I’m staying in tonight. But in the meantime thought I’d post some Halloweenesque pix. Not all of these are from Halloween celebrations but they’re all from amazing NYC nightlife parties and really there is very little difference!

A Night with Natalia Kills
Lately I am super hating the meatpacking district in New York. It has long lost its tranny loving edge along with Florent, the best restaurant to view the nightlife provocateurs. But as we all know, New York City neither sleeps nor stays the same – so when I ended up in the ‘hood with the brilliant and lovely pop star* Natalia Kills and our mutual friend Alex Catarinella we ended up doing an impromptu photo shoot which plays with both the old and new meatpacking district.
Natalia’s in the middle of recording her sophomore album with producer Jeff Bhasker (who has also worked with Beyonce, Kanye West and Lana Del Ray). I have no doubt that it’s going to be s!ck. This girl is witty and wicked and has style for days and this comes through in her songs like the infectious “Kill My Boyfriend” (Check out the video at the end of this post!)

Food- I love macarons. I definitely have a sweet tooth and the ones from Laduree are classics!
Drink- Earlgrey Tea in the day, Lychee Martini at night

Book- Invisible Monsters by Chuck Palaniuk
Artist- Gwen Stefani.
NYC spot to go out- Tuesday nights Westgay at Westway is wild
NYC spot for creative inspiration- The glass window bridge on the Highline.
Vacation/getaway spot- Paris
Indulgence- Walter Steiger shoes
Fashion designer- Alexander Wang… I love every collection
Article of clothing- My Chole Sevigny dress
Go-to cosmetic- Eyeliner
Favorite thing about being a popstar- Airplanes. I love flying more than anything else in the world…
Historical time period that you never experienced (and why) 1960 to late 1970s because those were my Grandma’s glory days. She’s my idol.

Natalia Kills rocks it in black & white
All the cool kids were at the Mondrian Soho last night for the kick off of their Fashion Series co-hosted by NMRKT. This month’s event celebrated Le City Kitty and jewelry designer Chris Habana. It was too dark for me to take photos inside and too rainy to catch people outside. But I loved Natalia’s look so much I convinced her to come out for a quick photograph. (and a certain incident with white wine might have been why she complied!) Honestly I don’t care why she came out with me –just happy she did because this girl rocks it from head to toe.
